Speed is the tactic on the street. See a chick, shout out hello, go in and get her number. Time is not your friend in the street because everyone is in a rush. So make contact with the woman, get her number or take her home and thats about it. You can wave or gesture to her that you only need to talk with her for a minute and thats it. See your target and move in.

In the words of a famous NLP practitioner, "He who hesitates, waits". In other words, you need to act immediately to get results. If you hesitate, chances are, you end up never doing. Part of the reason why jumping in is preferred, is the message you put across. Hesitation shows fear, and what attracts most women is the opposite - confidence.
